Cricket is the national sport of Barbados and the West Indies, and almost every year International Test Matches and One Day Internationals are played at Kensington Oval. In addition there are local and regional competitions throughout the year.
In 2007 Barbados hosted the Cricket World Cup final, as well as six "Super Eight" matches and several warm-up matches.

2010 Regional First Class Cricket
There are seven rounds of matches involving the following regional teams:;Barbados, Combined Colleges and Campuses, Guyana, Jamaica, Leeward Islands, Trinidad and Tobago and Windward Islands.
All matches in a given round will be played in the same territory.
Here's the Schedule:;;Round 1 - In Jamaica - January 08,09,10,11;;Round 2 - In The Leeward Islands - January 15,16,17,18;;Round 3 - In Barbados - January 22,23,24,25; Barbados Vs Trinidad and Tobago at Kensington Oval, Fontabelle, St. Michael ; 10:00 am to 5:00 pm Admission Bds $5.00; Windward Islands Vs Combined Colleges and Campuses at 3Ws Oval, UWI, St. Michael; 10:00 am to 5:00 pm Admission Bds $5.00; Jamaica Vs Guyana at Four Square, St. Philip; 10:00 am to 5:00 pm Admission Free; This is the first first-class match to be played on this ground.;;Round 4 - In Barbados - January 29,30,31, February 01; Combined Colleges and Campuses Vs Guyana, at 3Ws Oval, UWI, St. Michael; 10:00 am to 5:00 pm Admission Bds $5.00; Trinidad and Tobago Vs Leeward Islands at Four Square, St. Philip ; 10:00 am to 5:00 pm Admission Free; Windward Islands Vs Barbados at Kensington Oval, Fontabelle, St. Michael; 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm Admission Bds $5.00 - day/night game;;Round 5 - in Guyana - February 12,13,14,15;;Round 6 - in Trinidad - February 19,20.21.22;;Round 7 - In The Windward Islands - February 26,27,28, March 01
In an innovative experiment, four of the matches will be played as day-night matches and will use a pink ball. None of those will be played in Barbados.
