Cricket is the national sport of Barbados and the West Indies, and almost every year International Test Matches and One Day Internationals are played at Kensington Oval. In addition there are local and regional competitions throughout the year.
In 2007 Barbados hosted the Cricket World Cup final, as well as six "Super Eight" matches and several warm-up matches.

The playing schedule is as follows:;January 20, 22, 26 and February 02 - Round 1 - 2 matches each night at 6:30 pm and 9:30 pm;February 05, 12 19 - Round 2 - 2 matches each night at 6:30 pm and 9:30 pm;Feb 26 - Semi Finals - 1st semi at 6:30 pm; 2nd Semi at 9:30 pm;March 05 - Final - at 7:30 pm
Rounds 1 and 2 will be Played at the Dover Playing Field, St. Lawrence Gap, Christ Church;The Semi-Finals and Final will be played at The Foundation School, Church Hill, Chris Church.

This is the first time such a tournament is being played.;It's hoped to make it an annual event.;;The ten teams in the tournament come from the membership of the Barbados Hotel and Tourism Association (BHTA). They composition of each team can be all male, all female or mixed.;;The ten teams are divided into two zones of five each.;;The preliminary round is a round-robin tournament within each zone where each team in a zone plays every other team in the same zone. In this round there will be two matches in each zone on each of the five days of the round - one at 10:00 and the other at 2:30 pm.;;After that there are two semi-finals in which the winner of each zone plays the runner-up in the other zone. Then there's a final.;;The Zones comprise:;Zone A;Accra;Crane;Hilton;Bougainvillea;Sea Breeze / Chickmont;;Zone B;Sandy Lane;Fairmont Royal Pavilion;Coral Reef;Intimate Hotels;Banks;;Here's the full schedule:
