VSOP Jazz at The Waterfront Cafe
This is a dinner with jazz event. ;;The VSOP is a local 7-piece Dixieland Jazz Band that has been playing for 23 years at The Waterfront, and for 27 years in all. They are an informal and fun act. ;;They are lead by Andy Voss (trumpet and vocals). Others are John Duckhouse (trombone and vocals), Tony Cummins (clarinet and sax), Art Taylor (piano), Robert Foster (drums), Ronnie Crebbin (banjo), and Cecil Bascombe (bass) ;;The Waterfront Cafe serves fine food. The menu offers a combination of Caribbean, American and seafood cuisine. Seating is provided for 160 people. ;;Dinner reservations are definitely recommended, but if you dont mind perhaps having to stand, you can simply show up and have a couple of drinks and dance or listen to the band.

Crop Over Festival - Grand Kadooment
This carnival parade features large bands with members dressed in elaborate costumes to depict various themes. In 2009, there were over 15,000 costumed revelers registsered to approximately 25 bands. ;;Designers compete for the coveted Designer of the Year prize while the revelers are intent on having a good time! ;;The revelers make their way from the National Stadium to Spring Garden accompanied by the pulsating rhthym of calypso music. When they reach Spring Garden, the party continues with more fantastic music, lots of food and drink and, for some, a quick swim at the nearby beach. A grand end to a grand festival. ;;The bands parade across in front of the stands at the National Stadium before proceeding to Spring Garden. ;;Bands are judged in the following categories: ;Portrayal: 40 points ;Depiction of a theme ;;Craftsmanship: 20 points ;Skill in costume making ;;Presentation: 10 points ;Impact made on the stage ;;Originality: 15 points ;Inventiveness in use of materials and portrayal of the concept ;;Visual Impact: 15 points
