Crop Over Festival - Pic-o-de-Crop Semi-Finals
Calypsonians vying for the Calypso Monarch title perform throughout the festival period in calypso ‘tents’.
On pre-announced nights, the competition's judges visit each tent and score the performers on known criteria.
After the last tent judging, 18 contestants are selected to go forward to the Pic-o-de-Crop semi-finals.
At the semis, each contestant sings two calypsos in an order determined by a random draw. (It's a l.o.n.g evening!) The eight calypsonians judged best go forward to the finals.

Crop Over Festival - Grand Kadooment
This carnival parade features large bands with members dressed in elaborate costumes to depict various themes. In 2008, there were over 15,000 costumed revelers registsered to 25 bands.
Designers compete for the coveted Designer of the Year prize while the revelers seem more intent on having a good time!
The revelers make their way from the National Stadium to Spring Garden accompanied by the pulsating rhthym of calypso music. When they reach Spring Garden, the party continues with more fantastic music, lots of food and drink and, for some, a quick swim at the nearby beach. A grand end to a grand festival.
