BFIT Kids Triathlon - Race 9
The Barbados Federation of Island Triathletes conducts a series of triathlons annually for children in several age groups from under 7 to over 15. Distances for swimming, riding and running are adjusted according to age.
This year there are 10 races:

Motor Sport - Special Stage Rally No 5 - Winter Rally
This event is jointly promoted by the Barbados Rally Club and the Motoring Club of Barbados Inc. ;;This is the last event in the Virgin Atlantic Driver's and Class Championship.;It starts at Ocean Park at 8:30 am.
There are 12 stages. Stages 1 to 4 and 9 to 12 wil be at Searles; stages 5-8 will be at Guinea.
A Special Stage Rally is run over sections of tarmac or loose surface roads, which are not public roads, but which are joined by linking sections which are public roads. ;;The public roads forming the linking sections must be closed for the duration of the rally.

Courtesy Garage / Nissan Tennis Championships - Round 3
The event is part of the year-long Courtesy Garage/Nissan Race of Champions, which comprises 4 rounds of tournaments.
This is round 3, known as the Christopher Howitt Tennis Championship. Other rounds are in January, May and December. Each event is played over two to three weeks. After the December round, there is the Courtesy Garage Top 8 Tennis Tournament for the winners of the Open category. ;;In the four quarterly events, there are eight age groups as follows: ;u-10; u-12; u-14, u-16, u-18, ov-35, ov-45 and Open. ;In each age group, there are male and female singles and doubles competitions. In addition, in the Open, there is a mixed pair competition. ;;Start times: ;On weekdays, play starts at 3:00 pm for the youngsters, and at 6:00 pm for ov-35,ov-45 and Open competitions. On weekends, play starts at 9:00 am each day. ;;For the current event, there are approximately 100 competitors. A similar number of players is expected for the other events. Prize money is offered for the winners in each event. ;;The events are sanctioned by the Barbados Tennis Association and are played by their rules. Players accumulate points based on their performance in each event. Overall winners in each age group and division are announced at the end of the year. These results are passed on to the Barbados Tennis Association who combine the points with the results of their events to produce a national ranking. This then decides who is selected for Davis Cup and other regional and international events.

Participating teams are coming from Antigua and Barbuda, St. Vincent. St. Lucia, Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago to join hosts Barbados.;Barbadian teams won both the men's and women's categories in round 1 which took place in Antigua earlier this year.

The competition is run under the auspices of the Barbados Cricket Association (BCA).
It runs from May 09 to December 20, features 16 clubs, and will be played in league format with each team playing every other.

2009 Regional Amateur Kickboxing Tournament
Competing will be kick boxers fro Barbados, Guyana and Trinidad and Tobago.
There will be 2 Junior bouts and 6 bouts.
The Junior bouts will be fought under Full Contact rules, while the Senior bouts will be under Freestyle rules.

BFIT Kids Triathlon - Race 10
The Barbados Federation of Island Triathletes conducts a series of triathlons annually for children in several age groups from under 7 to over 15. Distances for swimming, riding and running are adjusted according to age.

Barbados Turf Club Third Racing Season - Day 3
Horse Racing in Barbados has taken place at the Garrison Savannah for over 150 years. The Barbados Turf Club organizes three seasons of racing per year. These meetings run from January to April; May to August and from October to December, normally every other Saturday. There are usually nine races per day, starting around 1:00 pm and finishing around 5:45 pm.

Tennis: Serena Williams and Caroline Wozniaki
The Barbados Invitational Tennis Exhibition showcases Womens World No 1 Serena Williams and No Caroline Wozniaki in two exhibition matches.
The first, taking place on Sat 28, will be played at the Wildey Gymnasium and will be a singles match.;The venue seats 4000 spectators and the promoters expect a full house.
Also featured is a match between Barbados No 1 Haydn Lewis and a former US Top 40 player Jeff Tarango.
Tickets are on sale at all Supercentre Locations, Cave Shepherd, Lewis Drug Mart, The Barbados Olympic Association, and Facets.
The second on Sun 29 will be at Sugar Hill and will be a doubles match with each of the stars partnering wit a local player. This will be a much more intimate setting. After the match, there will be a cocktail party.

November Pro International Surfing Championship
Surfers will be competing in four categories. These are Men's Open, Women's Open, Under 21 Junior Boy's and Body Surfing.
Competitors are expected from many countries, regional and extra-regional.
The competition is hosted by the Barbados Surfing Association and the Caribbean Surfing Network.
The Soup Bowl is rated one of the top ten surfing locations in the world.

Barbados Karate Open Championship
The event is hosted by the Barbados Karate Federation.;;The championship is an international event open to clubs locally, regionally and internationally and is open to competitors in the Junior and Adult starting from ages 7 yrs and over (male and female) catagories in Kata (formal exercise routines) and Kumite (fighting).
Teams are epected from St. Lucia, USA, El Salvador and Bolivia, in addition to hosts Barbados.
The competition will be contested under the WKorld Karate Federation (WKF) competition rules.
After not being recognised for several years, the BKF hopes that the WKF will again recognise the event and have it listed in its calendar of International events.

The Run Barbados Series is sponsored by the Barbados Tourism Authority.

BCA 1st Division Cricket
The competition is run under the auspices of the Barbados Cricket Association (BCA).
It runs from May 09 to December 20, features 16 clubs, and will be played in league format with each team playing every other.
Each match will be played over three days in a Saturday, Sunday, Saturday format except for Series 4 and 5, which will be played on three successive Saturdays. In addition, there is no cricket on Kadooment weekend, August 1st and 2nd.

9th Independence International Judo Tournament
The 9th Independence International Tournament will take place on December 12, 2009 at the Garfield Sobers Gymnasium.
Barbados will host teams from Bahamas, Curacao, Guadeloupe, India, Martinique, Sri Lanka, St. Maarten, Suriname and the USA. ;It is expected that there will be over 100 competitors from Barbados and over 70 from overseas.
Also attending the tournament will be Mr. Andre Van Zyl, Personal Advisor to the President of the International Judo Federation. ;Mr. Van Zyl, who will be representing the President. is planning to get married in Barbados, a few days after the Tournament,
Competition will be by gender in eight categories and by weight within each category.;The first 5 categories - the younger competitors - will not be allowed to use chokes or armlocks.;Competitors in category six - aged 15 to 16 - are allowed to use chokes but not armlocks;Older competitors are allowed to use both chokes and armlocks.
The admission fee is Bds $20.00 for audits and $15.00 for children 12 and under. The fee entitles you to a hot dog and a soft drink.
