Six local swim clubs are entered in this year's youth competition, along with teams from Costa Rica, Ecuador, Curacao, Grenada and St. Lucia.Swimmers are trying to qualify for the Carifta Swimming Championships to be held later this year.Events include male and female age categories as follows:8 and under; 9-10: 11-12; 13-14; 15-17; 18-24; 25 and over.

The Burkie Championship (founder Alan Burke) is a series of 5 events catering to juniors.Categories are as follows:10 and under12 and under boys12 and under girls14 and underUnder 16Under 18 boysUnder 18 girls.Each event has winners for the respective divisions and awards are provided to the top 4 finalists in each division. Points are allocated for each junior’s placing. For example the winner of a division earns 1000 points, 2nd place 860 points, and so on. At the end of the season there are overall winners for each division based on the final tally of points earned at each event during the year. Ratings and seeding are adjusted after each event based on points tally. Round 2 is sponsored by Tile Gallery

Mount Gay Boatyard Regatta
This is an annual event organised by the Barbados Sailing Association. Boats enter in one of 6 classes as determined by the Caribbean Sailing Association. Classes are: Racing A, Racing B, Cruising A, Cruising B, and J24. Spectators may wish to view the procedings from the Boatyard's Heatwave catamaran for Bds $50.00 including buffet lunch and drinks. Departs from the Boatyard at 9:30am returning 3:30pm each race day. This year's schedule will be adeed as soon as it becomes available.
